I found a way to see the total amount of money I've spent on Amazon since 2006 — here's how to do it

  • If you're an avid Amazon shopper, you've probably built up quite a balance in total purchases. 
  • There's a way to look up how much money you've spent on Amazon since January 2006.
  • You can pull historical data from your account, download it as a CSV file, and import it into a Google spreadsheet to tally up your total. 

Okay, I'm about to show you a technique that might scare you — calculating everything that you've spent on Amazon.com. Amazon, as most of us know, makes it incredibly easy to part with our money. They probably single-handedly keep UPS in business, too.

If you're as curious as I was about how much you've spent at Amazon (at least from January of 2006), follow these fairly simple instructions.
