Video shows a massive sinkhole in Pittsburgh swallowing a bus during rush hour

  • A huge sinkhole opened up in downtown Pittsburgh during rush hour on Monday, swallowing a Port Authority bus. 
  • The incident happened at Penn Avenue and 10th Street. Emergency services were called just before 8 a.m. local time. 
  • Video posted by CBS affiliate KDKA shows the bus trapped in the sinkhole, with the front portion of the vehicle including the driver's seat protruding into the air.

A huge sinkhole opened up during peak rush hour in Pittsburgh on Monday, swallowing the back portion of a Port Authority bus, leaving it stranded in the road. 

According to Port Authority PGH, no one was seriously injured in the incident, which happened just before 8 a.m. local time. Only the driver and one passenger were aboard the bus at the time.
