Iran fired 'tens' of missiles at a base housing US troops in Iraq after killing of top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani

  • Iran claims it launched a missile attack on Al-Asad Air Base, the largest base housing US personnel in western Iraq, early Wednesday morning, Iranian state television revealed, according to the Associated Press.
  • "We are aware of the reports of attacks on US facilities in Iraq. The President has been briefed and is monitoring the situation closely and consulting with his national security team," the White House press secretary said in a statement.
