- At least 116 workers at the construction site of the Montage Big Sky luxury resort in Big Sky, Montana have tested positive for the coronavirus since July 8, Johnathan Hettinger reported for Montana Free Press.
- It's one of the largest outbreaks in Montana, which has reported 3,676 cases and 54 deaths.
- Suffolk Construction, the Boston-based contractor for the project, hired a private lab to conduct more than 800 tests so far, per the Montana Free Press.
- Some of the workers who tested positive reportedly live in other Montana counties.
- Six Suffolk employees tested positive for the virus back in March, after which Suffolk said it was taking precautions to keep a six-foot distance between workers.
- Montage International, with private equity firm CrossHarbor Capital Partners LLC, started construction of the Montage Big Sky on a $400 million property in Big Sky in September 2018.
- Plans for the resort, which is set to open in 2021, include a 150-room hotel, a bowling alley, two swimming pools, ski lockers, and ski-in and ski-out access to Big Sky Resort, the second-largest ski resort in the US by acreage.
