What's going on today:
- Spears said she was treated like a "slave" under her conservatorship. Britney Spears compared parts of her life under the conservatorship to "sex trafficking" during her court appearance. "In California, the only similar thing to this is called sex trafficking," Spears said at the hearing while describing the "traumatizing" experiences.
- Brace for impact. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warns of an "absolutely catastrophic" hit to economic recovery this summer if the US can't pay its bills on time. It could put Americans' jobs and savings in jeopardy, she said.
- Get well soon. Blink-182's Mark Hoppus says he has cancer: "It sucks and I'm scared." Hoppus said he's "trying to remain hopeful and positive" and that he "can't wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the near future."
- An anti-gun graduation ceremony. An ex-NRA president spoke at a fake high school graduation where the empty seats represented students killed by gun violence. The commencement stunt was orchestrated by Manuel and Patricia Oliver, whose son Joaquin "Guac" Oliver died in the 2018 Parkland shooting.
- A place where milk is $15 a gallon. Turkmenistan's secretive capital of Ashgabat is named the most expensive city for expats in the world. But it's not for reasons you'd think.
