- Harris doubles down on border policy. On her first foreign trip as VP, Kamala Harris tells Guatemalan migrants not to come to the US. "I want to be clear to folks ... who are thinking about making that dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border: Do not come," Harris said.
- DOJ wants to defend Trump in a sexual assault-related defamation case. The Justice Department is arguing it should take Trump's place in a defamation lawsuit over his response to a magazine columnist who accused him of rape. "The DOJ's position ... would give federal officials free license to cover up private sexual misconduct," Roberta Kaplan, attorney for E. Jean Carroll, said.
- Burning money at the bitcoin conference. Thousands of crypto-crazed fans in Miami partied and watched money burn at the bitcoin conference. Here are 5 of the wildest stories from the event. Miami hosted the 2021 Bitcoin Conference last weekend. Some speakers included Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, who revealed he'd work for bitcoin if "needed."
- Darkside denied. The FBI recovered a huge chunk of the Colonial Pipeline ransom by secretly gaining access to Darkside's bitcoin wallet password. The FBI seized $2.3 million after following the ransom money to a bitcoin wallet used by the hackers, for which the agency had a "private key."
- Short-staffed. After cutting 30% of their support staff, American Airlines is now asking corporate staff to volunteer to help in DFW airport this summer, amid a surge in travel. Volunteers would work six-hour shifts from June to August helping customers find their way around the airport and assisting at ticketing stations. Employees won't be paid extra but are also not required to volunteer.
