What's going on today:

• South Korea's Olympic food fears. Afraid that its athletes may eat contaminated ingredients from Fukushima, South Korea created its own Olympic food program. Japan is not impressed. Japanese citizens have criticized the decision online, and one politician said it "tramples the hearts of Fukushima residents."
• Drama among the Capitol riot defense lawyers. Defense lawyers for pro-Trump Capitol attackers are comparing notes on a clubby email listserv - and dishing on prosecutors. The listserv used by defense lawyers in the January 6 Capitol attack cases has been collegial and welcoming. But like almost any such forum, things can at times get tense there, emails obtained by Insider show.
• Toyota stalls on Olympics commercials. Toyota canceled plans to run Olympics-themed commercials during the games, despite being a major corporate sponsor of the event. The carmaker's top executives will also not attend the games, which are unpopular in Japan.
• Coco Gauff out after testing positive for COVID. Teen tennis star Coco Gauff has dropped out of the Olympics after testing positive for COVID-19. Gauff is among 55 people with connections to the Tokyo Games who have tested positive since July 1.
• China cracks down on the unvaccinated. In some areas of China, the unvaccinated are being banned from schools, hospitals, and public transport. Several counties across the country are putting the prohibitions in place this month.
• Haiti's factionalism heats up. The assassination of Haiti's president created a political vacuum and a looming threat for more intense gang violence."We are ready for war," Jimmy "Barbecue" Cherizier, a leader of a coalition of gangs called the G9, said. "We are only warming up."
