El Paso police say 1 suspect is in custody in connection with the deadly Walmart shooting. Here's what we know.

  • One suspect is in custody after a deadly shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, on Saturday, authorities say.
  • Police have not yet identified the suspect, but local media outlets have published images from surveillance footage of what appears to be a white man entering the Walmart with a gun drawn.
  • El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen told reporters at a press conference that investigators are reviewing a manifesto from the shooting suspect, and said the attack has a "nexus to a hate crime."
  • CNN reported that three sources told the network the suspect is 21-year-old Patrick Crusius of Allen, Texas.

One suspect is in custody after a deadly shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, that killed 20 people and injured 26, officials said.

At an afternoon press conference, El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen said the suspect was a 21-year-old white man from Allen, Texas. He did not identify the suspect by name.
