Health officials say they're testing the first possible Wuhan coronavirus case in New York City

  • Health officials said Saturday that New York City may have its first possible coronavirus patient, and are waiting for test results from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • If confirmed, the New York City patient would be the ninth coronavirus patient in the United States.
  • The virus originated in Wuhan, China, and has since spread to at least 24 countries and every single province and territory in China.
  • So far, 304 coronavirus patients have died in China, and nearly 14,400 cases have been confirmed around the world.

New York City officials announced Saturday they have been testing the city's first possible coronavirus patient.

The patient is under 40 years old and is in stable condition at the Bellevue Hospital Center in Manhattan, the New York City Department of Health said.
