It should only take a minute to log into Facebook.
  • You can log into Facebook on your computer or phone using the website or app.
  • Once you've logged into Facebook, you can save your account information and log in faster in the future.
  • If you don't know your Facebook password, select the "Forgot password?" option to recover it.

Facebook has dozens of apps spread across even more platforms. And although Facebook's apps have different looks and features, they've got one thing in common: To use them, you need to log into your account.

Luckily, logging into Facebook usually just requires your email and password.

Here's how to log into Facebook using your Mac, PC, iPhone, or Android device.

How to log into Facebook on an iPhone or Android device

On a mobile device, you can use either the Facebook app or website. The app is definitely easier, but both methods are similar.

If you want to use the app, you'll need to download it onto your device. You can get it for free from the iPhone App Store or Google Play Store.

1. Open the Facebook app or head to the Facebook website in your phone's web browser.

2. Enter the phone number or email associated with your Facebook account, and then the password.

3. Tap Log In.

Depending on your security settings, you might need to enter a code that's sent to your phone or email.

Once you've signed in, Facebook should ask you if you want to save your login information. This will let you log back into Facebook later by just tapping your profile picture.

On your computer, you should use the Facebook desktop site.

1. Head to the Facebook website using your web browser.

2. Type your phone number or email address, and then your password.

3. Click Log In.

Just like on mobile, enter your account information.

If you have two-factor authentication set up, you might be asked to enter a security code.

Can you tell if someone tries to log into your Facebook?

If you have two-factor authentication set up on Facebook, you will receive a confirmation code to your phone or email when there is a login attempt on your account. If you did not recently try to log in, you can assume it was someone else.

You can also turn on login alerts by going to Settings > Account Center > Passwords and Security > Security Checkup > Turn on Login alerts on Facebook desktop. You can choose whether you want to receive a notification on Facebook or via email.
